Pre- Primary Section, which is a part of the Patuck
Technical High School & Junior College, is an experimental
school based on "Play Way Method" of the N.C.E.R.T.
(Govt. of India) pattern and under the Montessori system
of education. We aim at learning without "tears".
The teachers are specially trained in this respect.
The children are induced to play in a disciplined way
and learn without strain.
Junior Kindergarten was started in
the year 1994 with just a handful of kids and having
one division. In 1995 we added a second division as
the strength gradually increased. Today we have three
divisions each in Junior and Senior K.G. with a strength
of 260 students.
In 2003, we introduced a PLAYSCHOOL
for 2½ year old children. We have 40 students
in the play-school.
In Patuck Pre- Primary, we follow the
play way techniques of teaching. Play is an activity.
It gives pleasure to the one who indulges in it. The
teachers are specially trained in this respect. The
children are induced to play in a disciplined way and
learn without strain. We ensure that no stress is placed
on the children. The way we interact with them, the
way we help them communicate, the way we let them explore
and express themselves are all based on scientific techniques.
AT PATUCK, children are very happy
to be with the teacher, since they are left free to
do as they please in a structured way. They are taught
to sing, dance, play, scribble and colour. Cartoon films
as well as E-Learning DVD'S are shown to the children
to boost their knowledge. The children are very anxious
to attend school daily and most of them come to school
regularly and often, even before time. Play is marked
by spontaneity, freedom and joy. Play is a profound
manifestation of creative activities. We believe that
growth and development of children is a natural process.
As there are numerous indoor and outdoor activities,
our children enjoy and get attracted to come to school.
The campus has a very good playground
for the young kids with slides, see-saws, swings, etc.
This creates a very good environment for young children.
All learning material is provided by
the school. As such, children go home without usual
'Luggage'. Physical and mental development is supplemented
by balanced learning activity.
